Permanent Regional Director of Pharmacy Western Memorial Regional Hospital Corner Brook, NL Applications are being accepted for the permanent full time position of Director of Pharmacy with Western Health located at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. This position reports to the VP of Patient Services and is responsible for providing leadership to over 50 employees within the Pharmacy Department. The incumbent is accountable for the efficient and effective planning, leadership and direction of the all pharmacy operations within Western Health. The position is responsible for developing and implementing a pharmacy operational management plan in keeping with the strategic direction of Western Health, accrediation standards and provincial direction. This includes performance monitoring, standard setting, system design and improvement. This position functions with a high degree of independence and autonomy on issues that fall within the position's parameters. Required Qualifications: A Master's degree in a health related field, business or the equivalent is required as well as a current and valid registration as a Registered Pharmacist with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board. In addition, significant progressive leadership and management experience are required, typically acquired through a minimum of five (5) years of management level positions. This position will create and model an environment that empowers individuals and teams. Critical thinking and advanced problem solving skills along with an ability to function with a high degree of independence are essential. Demonstrated effective and innovative leadership is required. Applicants must be willing to travel as required. In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Master's degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program. **A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
