To experience more, go to Learn more about what we do… Responsibilities Act as the Manufacturing Engineering point of contact to Production/CSG (Customer Service Group) for assistance in troubleshooting and resolving sub-assembly and system level issues Create Work/Conversion Instructions to support component and system level changes Generate Retest Instructions for repaired and reworked systems Reviewing change requests generated by production staff and implement changes as required Assisting in the development of manufacturing processes and procedures for production Periodically reviewing processes and procedures for clarity and accuracy Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and projects Monitor cell KPIs, yields and identify failure trends, conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions Support optical equipment preventive maintenance and calibration efforts Source and specify optical test equipment for factory Provide technical support to the NPI (New Product Introduction) project team to ensure smooth transition of newly developed products into manufacturing Weekend shift required (Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 7:00 am - 7:00 pm) #LI-GDD *IND Qualifications Desired Skills Excellent electro-optical troubleshooting skills, independent problem solving skills and a long term solutions provider Superior organization skills, dynamic, resourceful and are known for sense of initiative (sense of urgency, innovative, problem solver) Experience working with optical assemblies and sensors, electronics and video processing considered an asset Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially MS Excel Excellent technical and communication skills both written and verbal Experience using LEAN tools/methodology considered an asset Fundamental knowledge of Photonics, Optics, or Lasers Desired Experience and Education Must have a well rounded electro-optical and mechanical background with manufacturing experience in a production environment Minimum Technician Diploma or College Diploma in Photonics or Electro-Optics or Electronics or Mechanical Engineering Technology Minimum 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing/manufacturing engineering role Life at L3 WESCAM Our work environment is both challenging and dynamic - our physical environment is state of the art.
