Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Area 6 Manager, Addiction and Mental Health, The Opioid Dependency Program RN will be responsible for provision of direct nursing care which includes all aspects of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation: Performs rapid nursing assessments to ensure safety and mitigate risks associated with medication management. Assists physician in medical examinations, scheduling of appointments and processing of related orders. Administers Methadone, Suboxone and other medications prepared by a licensed pharmacist. Prepares prescription renewals and records meaningful and historical data. Maintains precise records on individual client files and daily dispensing record. Contributes in Opioid Dependency Program (ODP) Team Meetings, team decisions, policy and procedure manual revisions and other relevant program processes and structures. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with community pharmacists. Works collaboratively with primary care and is willing to conduct addiction and mental health assessments in the emergency department and acute care. Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. Additional Qualifications: In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in addiction and mental health. Experience with opioid replacement therapy for opioid addiction would be considered an asset.
